About

I am a retired guy who has loved photography since I got my first Brownie Hawkeye camera at age 10. Now, I live with my wife of 43 years on Florida’s central west coast and continue exploring my passion for capturing images.

My photography is eclectic; I enjoy landscapes, portraits, self-portraits, travel, and still life’s.

While I shoot with Nikon digital cameras, I am also drawn to analog photography, including film and alternative printing processes such as tintypes, van dyke brown, and cyanotypes.

From the beginning of photography, photographs once held special significance, cherished and passed down through generations. Now, our digital images—stored as electronic bits on phones, computers, and in the cloud—reflect changing technology. As technology evolves, we must preserve our photographs for future generations.

  1. Thank you for your details on Fitz William Guerin. I was recently given a small book that he wrote in 1898. He was indeed a superb photographer. The book includes technical information on how he set up and posed his subjects, how he used his lighting equipment and also a few photos of his studio layouts.

  2. That is cool, I didn’t realize he had written a book. From the information I had read about him, he was a very interesting man.
