Monument Of States
From a recent visit to the Monument of States, it was conceived as a symbol of American unity after the attack on Pearl Harbor, and is located at 300 E. Monument Avenue in Kissimmee Florida. It was built by volunteers, with donations of stone that came from around the world, including a rock from President Franklin D Roosevelt.. It was the brainchild of Charles W. Bressler-Pettis, who also hoped it would become a unique tourist attraction for the city.

Behind the Scenes: Clyde Butcher’s Venice Gallery
Recently I had the privilege of meeting Clyde Butcher and touring his darkroom and gallery in Venice Florida. He is a large-format camera photographer known for wilderness photography of the Florida landscape. He began his career doing color photography before switching to large-scale black-and-white landscape photography after the death of his son. Clyde strongly advocates for conservation efforts. He uses his work to promote awareness of the beauty of natural places.
