Lester Lindbergh Burch 1930-1942.

Lester’s headstone had  marbles scattered in front of it along with a baseball and other toys. Always sad to see the grave of a young child.

 Polk County Commissioners erected concrete markers at the boundaries of Polk County, Florida way back during the “boom” years of the state, around 1920, alongside the main roads leading in and out of the county. There are several like this one located in the county.

Recent Visit To Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park

Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park near Micanopy Florida covers 21,000 acres and is a remarkable grassland unlike any other in the Deep South. Buffalo and wild Spanish horses graze on the prairie and historic sites dot the preserve.
