Meet The Gerling’s!

I recently acquired some glass plate negatives featuring James Gerling (1867-1959) and his wife Mary (1868-1950). The photos capture them having a picnic and playing music together in their parlor. James was an avid photographer.  The couple spent most of their lives in Oneonta, New York. They got married in 1893 but did not have children. He worked nearly his entire life for the railroad in Oneonta as a bookkeeper, clerk, and head clerk in the railroad office.
